...Become a Christian?
Becoming a Christian is as simple as trusting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. The basic structure of Christian doctrine is to understand the following:
1. Every human being sins (walks outside of the perfection of God). We are not able to live perfect
sinless lives. (Romans 3:23)
2. Every human being is doomed to die because of sin. (Romans 5:12, 6:23)
3. Human beings are eternally seperated from God because He can not tolerate unrighteousness. When a
human being who is not covered by the Righteousness of Christ dies, he or she is doomed to eternity in hell
4. God loved His creation so MUCH, that He became a man, was born of a virgin, fathered by the Holy
Spirit and He endured a completely human existance (with all the acompanying temptations). He led a
sinless and completly righteous life in the person of Jesus. Then Jesus accepted the penalty of sin (death
on the cross) even though He had committed no sin or unrighteousness. Jesus paid the penalty, opening
heaven for any human being who would accept His gift.
5. No human can buy their way into heaven by "being good" or by doing good works. Our very best is not good
enough.
Isiah 54:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;
We all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Only by understanding that Jesus died to pay for sins that He didn't commit, and accepting that His sacrifice
was enough to pay the price for OUR sin, are we saved (allowed eternal life in heaven with God)

...Get baptized?
Baptism is a way to show the world that you have decided to follow Jesus. There are many beliefs surrounding baptism, some are good and some are not. Below we will explain a bit about our position on "Believer's Baptism" and give you supporting scripture for our position.
While we do believe that it is an act of obedience to the bible to become baptized, we do not believe that a person is not saved if they are not baptized. As evidence, simply look at the theif on the cross. (Luke 23:39-43) He simply defended Jesus from the mocking of the other condemned man and asked Jesus to remember him in heaven.
Luke 23:42-43 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
In scripture as well as history we see 3 kinds of baptism. Baptism into a trade or job, baptism of repentance (such as offered by John the Baptist), and baptism into Christian brotherhood, or "Believers Baptism" which was offered by the apostles and disciples of Jesus. Jesus could not be baptized into repentance, because He was sinless, and therefore had nothing to repent of. Further, Jesus could not be baptized into Christian brotherhood because He was the Christ, and the embodiment of Christianity. That leaves only one kind of baptism for Jesus to undergo; His Father's work. Jesus was baptized into the "Family business" as it were.
Nowhere in scripture does one see infants being baptized. All baptism is done to those of an age at which they could be held accountable for their choices. How could an infant or small child decide on what work to do, be responsible for sin and seek repentance, or understand the brotherhood of Christ? None of the three types of baptism could reasonably be applied to an infant.
In coming days we will add more information regarding the modes of baptism, how you can be baptized, and what it would take for Pastor Rick to baptize you...
